To become an employee at Weazel News you must first go to the City Hall at 243 Carcer Way and select the "Reporter" job. When you're employed you can then head to 326 Lindsay Circus going to the front door to enter the building. If you don't see the marker ensure you're on duty as the job in the F4 or /jobMenu.
When you arrive inside get dressed in your uniform and wait for calls. To understand what's happening around the city with LEO and EMS involvement you're able to use a police scanner by heading into Patrol Ops and listening for calls that could amount to a good story.
While active as Weazel news you need to keep a few major key points in mind so you don't get into trouble. This way you can inform citizens of ongoing situations and keep citizens clear of unsafe areas. A reporter's primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Responding to Ongoing Scenes And Record Footage
Interview Witnesses Of The Scene
Post Updates Using Life Invader
Edit On Scene Footage And Upload To News
Sell Footage To News Companies
Comply With Officer's Orders
As a reporter, you have access to use props to enhance your roleplay on the scenes you're on. Using the F1 Ratical Menu and navigating to the work tab you can have access to a Microphone, Boom Microphone, and a Camera. When you find a call you want to respond to head to the back of the Weazel News HQ and grab a van from the white marker (1). If you have a valid Aviation License you can fly the Weazel News helicopter at the top of the building. This needs to be used with extreme caution as unrealistic/illegal flying will result in termination from Weazel News with a possible loss of your license. If you want to enter the area to get the helicopter go to the Northwest corner of the building and enter the white marker located (2).
All civilians roleplaying as Weazel News are expected to conduct themselves professionally. Swearing, Non-Compliance with law enforcement, Inappropriate Remarks or Comments, Barging in on Scenes, and asking victims for statements are prohibited while acting as a reporter. While required to capture footage for your job as a reporter, you must never interfere with law enforcement as their current tasks are much more critical.
When you're finished with your Weazel News patrol if you took out the helicopter land it back on the helipad to park it and if you took out the van bring it to the parking lot and park it in the white circle where you initially took it out. Open the job menu and mark yourself off duty.
