⛏️ Mining/Metal Detecting/Gold Panning
Have you ever wanted to things related to mining, metal detecting, and even smelting? Here is the guide that explains all of this to you!
Shops
If you need to purchase items to help you begin adventures in the activities below, you'll be able to do that here. Across the map, you'll find Mining Shops where you can buy essential gear. You'll head to the shop and see someone standing at the area of the marker on the map, You can third eye them to speak with them. These shops are located at:

Preparation
Visit a Mining Shop:
Locations:
Blaine County Cave
South LS Smeltery
Look for these marked locations on your map to purchase essential gear, including the Metal Detector.
Using the Metal Detector
Equip the Detector:
Access your inventory, select the Metal Detector, and use it to begin.
Listen for Beeps:
The detector emits beeping sounds that grow louder and faster as you get closer to a hidden item.
Spot the Item:
As you approach, the item will become visible.
Interact with the Item:
Use your Third Eye to inspect the item and choose to either discard or collect it.
After Detecting
Sell at the Pawnshop:
Collected items can be taken to the Pawnshop to exchange for cash.
Optional Smelting:
For potentially higher profits, visit the LS Smeltery to smelt your items into higher-quality materials.
Once smelted, return to the Pawnshop to sell these refined materials for increased value.
The beeping sound is your guide; the closer you are, the more urgent it becomes.
Remember, smelting can increase the value of your finds but takes extra time and effort.
Mining
Preparation
Visit a Mining Shop:
Ensure you have a Pickaxe.
It’s highly recommended to bring a Lantern for better visibility in dark areas.
Choose a Mining Location:
LS County Cave
Quarry in Blaine County
These locations are marked on the map for easy navigation.
Mining Process
Find Mineable Rocks:
Search for rocks in the mining area that can be interacted with.
Start Mining:
Use your Third Eye to mine the rocks.
After mining, the rock will leave a small fragment behind—this is normal.
Collect Stones:
You’ll receive a Stone for each successful mining action.
Gather as many stones as you can before proceeding to the next step.
Processing Stones
Washing Stones:
Location: Look for Stone Washing spots marked on the map.
Process: Use Third Eye on the water at these locations to wash stones. This process will yield items that can be sold at the Pawnshop.
Cracking Stones:
Location: Head to the LS Smeltery, marked on the map.
Process:
Find the cracking machines on the southwest side of the smeltery.
Use Third Eye to interact with the machine and select Use the Cracking Bench.
This will process your stones into valuable items.
Gold Panning
Preparation
Locate Gold Panning Areas:
Check the map for locations specifically marked for Gold Panning.
Gather Equipment:
Make sure you have a Gold Panning Tray in your inventory.
Gold Panning Process
Get to the Spot:
Once at the designated area, look for water sources on the ground.
Initiate Panning:
Use your Third Eye to interact with the water and select the Gold Pan option.
Start Sifting:
As you pan, you’ll sift through the water to uncover items.
Expect a mix of treasures and trash, reflecting LS’s less-than-pristine waters.
After Panning
Smelting Option:
Take your collected items to the LS Smeltery for refinement.
Smelting can transform your raw finds into higher-quality materials, increasing their value.
Selling Your Finds:
If you prefer not to smelt, or even after smelting, visit the Pawnshop to sell your items.
Both raw and smelted items are accepted for cash.
Jewelry Crafting
Location
Head to the LS Smeltery, marked on your map, for all crafting activities.
Requirements
Drill Bit: Needed to use the Jewelry Crafting Bench.
Uncut Gems: Obtained from mining, gold panning, or other activities.
Materials: Additional items may be required depending on the jewelry piece you want to craft.
Crafting Process
Access the Jewelry Crafting Bench:
Locate the bench at the LS Smeltery and use your third eye to interact with it.
Choose Your Jewelry:
Select from a variety of options like Rings, Necklaces, and Earrings.
You can also refine uncut gems into finished gems for higher value.
Crafting the Item:
Follow on-screen prompts to craft the selected jewelry item.
Ensure you have all the required materials in your inventory.
Selling Your Jewelry
Pawnshop: Take your crafted jewelry to the Pawnshop to sell it for cash.
Market Demand: Some crafted pieces may fetch a higher price depending on the server’s economy and player demand.
Smelting Items
Location
Head to the LS Smeltery, marked on the map, to begin your smelting activities.
Smelting Process
Find the Smelter:
Navigate to the back of the smeltery, where you’ll find the large smelter pourer (see map or image for guidance).
Interact with the Smelter:
Use your Third Eye on the smelter to access its menu.
The menu will display all the items in your inventory eligible for smelting (bolded items indicate smeltable resources).
Select and Smelt:
Choose the items you want to smelt and specify the quantity.
Confirm your selection to start the smelting process.
Selling Non-Smelted Ore (Optional)
If you decide not to smelt your ore, you can still make money by selling raw materials:
Locate the person standing in the middle of the LS Smeltery.
Use your Third Eye to interact with them and select the option to sell your unsmelted ore for instant cash.
Post-Smelting
Sell Smelted Items:
Take your newly refined, high-quality materials to the Pawnshop for a better price compared to raw ore.
Crafting Potential:
Some smelted materials can serve as ingredients for crafting other items or participating in additional server activities.
