Before you decide to venture out into the exciting waters of San Andreas, ensure you obtain a valid Hunting License from a San Andreas Parks and Wildlife Deputy, and ensure the license is in your inventory. Once you've completed this, you can start your journey! Navigate to one of the several Marina's throughout the map, including those at 319, 405, 705, T604 825, 1005 and 1136. Once you've arrived, find the Harbor Catch and Tackle Store on your map, also shown with a blue anchor icon. Find the stationary ped and third eye (L Alt) the PED to purchase all the items you will need, including Fishing Rods, Baits and an extra anchor. Next, locate the Yellow Boat Blip on your map, and find the stationary PED (this should be near the Harbor and Tackle Shop). Once doing so, it will provide you with several boat rental options if you so choose. Select your option and get out onto the water!
The Harbor and Tackle Stores are located within close proximity of the boat launches, allowing for easy access of all the fishing supplies you may need. Once you've located a Harbor and Tackle Shop, shown with a Blue Anchor Icon on your map, find the stationary PED and third eye (L Alt) the PED. From there, purchase all the necessary supplies you will need, including a Fishing Rod and Baits. Other supplies, including an anchor are available, but aren't required for purchase as boats come standard with those and more.

If you wish to rent a boat for your marine adventure, navigate to the Yellow Boat Icon on your map. Once you've arrived, find the stationary PED, and Third Eye (L Alt) the PED. You will be prompted with several boat rental options. Once you've made your selection, confirm your purchase and get started. Ensure you have all your equipment and hit the waters.
Once you've got everything you need, you're ready to start your journey! Fishing is separated into zones, and as you gain experience, you also unlock specific areas, which come with better fish and a higher payout, but also a more challenging experience.
When you arrived at the designated zone, or wherever you'd like, be sure to anchor your boat for a better experience. Find a good spot off your boat to fish and use the Fishing Rod. You'll notice fluctuations between catching time, that's just part of your experience.
When you have a hit, you'll be notified so you're ready to complete the last stretch. You'll be required to complete a number mini-game, where you need to click a random number (1-4) when the line is within a certain point. Below is an example.
Fishing isn't for everyone though! You'll experience trials and tribulations throughout your time, including rough waters, wild finds and even broken equipment! It's encouraged to purchase extra equipment as some can break.
If successful, you'll have your first catch! Continue this pattern until you're happy with your catch. Return to the Marina and sell your fish at the Harbor and Tackle Store for a payout. Here, you can also checking your Fishing XP.
