If you need to connect to the server for the first time, head to the Introduction page to learn how. Your FiveM will start and connect to the new server. You will be presented with this screen once the loading screen has finished and the server resources are fully loaded.
This screen presents you with two columns:
The left column is where you select a slot to create a new character
The right column will show details about the selected character, including the character's phone number, bank account number, and more.
To make your first character, click Slot 1
in the left column. Then click Create Character
on the button of the column. A window will open up for you to enter your character details.
You will enter your character's information in this window:
Character First Name: choose a first name for your character
Character Last Name: choose a last name for your character
Character Nationality: choose your character's nationality
Character Gender: choose your character's gender
Character Birthdate: choose your character's birthdate
Click Create Character
Next, choose your starting apartment and click the apartment name to select. Click Confirm
to choose the selected apartment. You can move apartments at any time.
After selecting and spawning in the apartment, you can customize the character. This customization is at no cost. However, any new clothing, haircuts, and plastic surgeon will charge you money afterward.
Ped: Choose your ped base model
Male: mp_m_freemode
Female mp_f_freemode
Inheritance: Choose your character's mother and father's appearance features, blends, and skin tones.
Face Features: Choose specific features for your character's face, including nose, eyes, chin, and more.
Appearance: Choose hair and eyebrow styles, colors, and more.
Clothes: Choose your character's clothing options.
Props: Choose options such as hats, bracelets, and more.
Tattoos: Choose tattoo options for your characters.
While you can select another ped option other than the freemode peds, doing so will mean you CAN NOT use any of the clothing or barber shops to change hair or clothing options and must use the plastic surgeon to change ped appearance. You also will not be able to use any preset uniforms for work jobs.
When you are finished customizing your character, click SAVE CHANGES
. You can now feel free to move around the map.
Several interaction points will have some text appear on the left side of your screen, as shown below.
You will notice some interactions will have 3D markers to show where interaction points are. These are primarily white for general interactions or could be color-coded for various jobs.
You will mainly use the radial menu for most interactions. This menu will change based on your job, proximity to vehicles, special interaction zones, and more. Press and hold F1
by default, which is changeable in your Settings menu. Some other features and functions have their own menus.
You can also save commands as custom keybinds, such as /eng
turning on/off the engine, toggling your gloves, etc. To do this, do /binds
to open the menus, choose the keybind row, and in the command columns, enter the command without the slash (/
); if arguments are needed, enter those in the second column. Commands are Case Sensitive.
Many locations, including apartments, some job vehicle garages, etc., will pop up a menu when you get to the designated spot. When the menu pops up, press ALT
to activate your mouse to interact with that menu. Press ESC
when the mouse is active to close the menu.
Many interactions will require using the 3rd eye target. You can activate this target by pressing LEFT ALT
by default. When active, move the white target around until the target turns blue, meaning there is an interaction available at that point. While the target is blue, Right Click
on your mouse to pause movement and click the intended interaction with a Left Click
.
If you're unable to move your mouse while using the Third Eye, resolve this issue by adjusting your GTA V settings. Navigate to:
Settings > Keyboard / Mouse > Mouse Input Method > Direct Input
Now that you have an apartment, here is what you can do with it.
Storage: You can purchase furniture that will give you access to item storage.
Wardrobe: You can purchase a wardrobe that will give you access to changing outfits on your property
Exit the apartment by going to the exit door, 3rd Eye the door, and choose Leave Property
You can invite anyone into your apartments while inside. You can also ring the doorbell of another apartment if they are home.
You need to see a real estate agent who can help you find a new apartment from a pre-defined inventory.
Each character will begin with a starting set of items: phone, food, water, ID card, and Driver's License. To open your inventory, press TAB
.
The inventory has three columns:
Right Column is dynamic; if you are not near anything that interacts with the inventory, and will allow you to drop items on the ground.
Center Column allows you to interact with items.
Quantity - Amount of an item you want to move
Some locations, such as an armory, may require you to enter a quantity
Use - move the item over to use or double-click on the item in your inventory to use
Give - move an item here to give to another player
Close - press here to close inventory or press TAB
Left Column is your inventory, items that are on your person - At the bottom of your inventory you'll have a "Locked Space". This is a section of your inventory where you can put an item that CANNOT be forcibly taken from you by anyone besides Law Enforcement.
You can drag and drop an item from your inventory to another on the right side.
Police can search you to see and take items from you.
Your hot bar is the items on the top row of your inventory 1-5. Press 1-5 on the top keypad to select or use that item. There is also a 6th hot bar slot all the way at the bottom of the inventory.
While in a vehicle, you can press TAB
to open the glovebox for that vehicle. When outside the vehicle near the trunk, opening your inventory will open the trunk for that vehicle. Each class of vehicle holds varying slots and weights.
Each store sells different items, showing that store's inventory in the right column. To purchase an item, set the # of items you want to purchase in the center columns and drag the item from the store to your inventory to purchase.
Anything you interact with could leave some sort of evidence for law enforcement to find. Steal a car? it will leave your fingerprints in the car. Shoot someone? you will have GSR on your clothing, and leave behind bullets and casings. And this goes on...
The City Hall locations (one in the city and one at Sandy Sheriff's Office) are where you can get your ID cards and sign up for independent jobs. You will need a job to earn money to pay for vehicles, houses, furniture, and other activities. Each job has a set pay amount per pay period. The exact time between paychecks is one in-game day (48 minutes in real life). Each job has different ways of earning money, whether the base paycheck or additional activities. To learn more about the available jobs, check out the jobs page.
As mentioned above, you'll start each character with an ID card and a driver's License. If you double-click these items, they'll display the information in the chat box for yourself and those around you. Additional ID cards, such as weapons and hunting, must be obtained by visiting the proper law enforcement officer.
Each new character will have a bank balance and some starter cash. You can go to any bank to send money, get a debit card, or change your PIN. You use your debit card at the ATM to manage your accounts. A lot of businesses use electronic payments for goods and services. You can pay invoices by doing the /invoices
chat command.
If you want to place a "scene" or piece of info on the ground to enhance your scene, run /createscene and you'll be prompted with a box. You can fill out the scene text, the text color, font size, font style, and the view distance, along with the time until it expires.
