Assuming you have been welcomed into your department's Canine sub-division, this guide is here to serve as a reminder in case you need a refresher or need to look back at something for clarification. However, be aware that you should not activate K9 unless you're trained in your department and that department's Canine Subdivision.
When you're ready to spawn in your Canine, you'll want to run the command in chat: /k9
. This will prompt you to register your dog. Begin by selecting the breed of the dog, followed by naming the K9. When finished you'll be prompted to select your dog, if you've made a K9 in the past this will be the option you're greeted with.
As you navigate through the K9 menu list, each item will be explained to assist your duty. This guide aims to enhance your understanding of the various options available and their respective functionalities.
As stated in the title, when you're beginning or ending your shift you'll use this to spawn or remove your Canine.
Please remember to despawn your K9 at the end of every shift to prevent any issues from arising.
This option will force your Canine partner to follow you around until you press it again to stop it.
You can also access the Follow | Stop using the command /k9follow
When you're getting in your vehicle you're able to have your Canine partner get into the car with you. When inside of the vehicle, press the menu option and the Canine will get into the car with you. If you are outside the car and want the dog to exit use this to force them out of the car.
You can also access the Get In | Go Outusing the command /k9vehicle
When you're around a suspect you'll press the button and the K9 will begin to sniff within the vicinity of the player and alert you if they detect anything.
When you're around a vehicle you need the Canine to sniff, walk up to it, and press the menu option. This will prompt the dog to walk around the vehicle and alert you if they detect anything and heal in the location of the object(s).
You can do /k9searchcar
or /k9searchplayer
While patrolling, you may unfortunately encounter the mishap of your Canine getting injured in the line of duty. However, there's no need to worry, as each handler is trained in providing basic medical aid to a Canine. Pressing the designated menu option will allow you to heal your K9, restoring it to better health. To execute this action, make sure you have an Elastic Bandage in your possession.
Before you begin your patrol it would be best to equip yourself and your Canine partner with a bulletproof vest. To put a vest on your Canine you must select the menu option with Armor in your inventory to place it on them.
You can also add the armor using the command /k9armor
When you possess the Suspect's ID, you can efficiently use the Track Player Feature in the menu. If the person is nearby, the dog will showcase its tracking skills by sniffing the ground while advancing toward the person of interest. Once the dog locates the suspect, it will come to a stop and alert you.
You can track someone using the command /k9trackplayer
In situations where you are unsure of the suspect's ID but know the general location where they fled, you can utilize your Canine to find tracks. Once the dog identifies tracks, you have the option to select a specific track to follow based on its direction. As the dog gets closer to the suspect's vicinity, it will stop. There are chances the dog will lose tracks of the suspect so you may need to work with it to relocate the tracks of the suspect.
You can also use the command /k9trackall
This is an option best selected every once in a while or after a scene as it'll allow you to get information on your dog's status. You'll get information about their health, Armor, Hunger Level, Thirst Level, Partnership level, and the XP amount.

It's a known fact that your Canine unit is going to be much faster than you are, if you select the option to mount a camera on the dog you'll be able to see what the dog sees through the camera you mounted. This can help locate your dog and see in places you might not normally be able to see.
You can also access the camera using the command /k9camera
When utilizing your Canine, you may need to deploy them during foot pursuits or to apprehend an uncooperative individual. If you are using a Keyboard and Mouse, ensure you have a weapon in your hands. Aim at the suspect you want the dog to attack. When ready to send the dog, press, and the dog will chase after and apprehend the suspect. When the dog performs a bite, the suspect will ragdoll, and the dog will guard the body. If the suspect gets back up then the dog will continue to follow and attack until subdued.
If your dog is not actively attacking anyone and you come under attack, the dog will automatically shift into defense mode. In this mode, it will attempt to save you by attacking the assailant. Be prepared for dynamic situations and utilize your Canine effectively to ensure a secure and controlled environment.
When you need your K9 to follow or move to a specific point, make sure you have a weapon in your hands. Aim at the location you want the K9 to run towards. Once you're ready, press the G
key and your dog will swiftly move to the designated location.
