"Breadcrumb" System

The prison's breadcrumb system helps guide you to mission objectives and important locations without getting lost in the sprawling facility.

What Are Breadcrumbs?

Breadcrumbs are visual navigation markers that appear on the ground, creating a path from your current location to your mission objective. This is the trail of glowing markers that guide you through the prison during missions.

How It Works

Automatic Activation

When you start a mission or activity, the breadcrumb system automatically activates:

  1. Mission Start: Accept a mission from Carlos or Reggie

  2. Path Generation: A trail of markers appears on the ground

  3. Follow the Trail: The markers lead you to your objective

  4. Updates Dynamically: The path adjusts as you move

Visual Appearance

Breadcrumbs typically appear as:

  • Ground Markers: Visible markers on the floor/ground

  • Direction Indicators: Show you which way to go

  • Distance-Based: More markers appear as you get closer

  • Limited Visibility: Maximum of 35 markers visible at once (prevents lag)

Following Breadcrumbs

Basic Navigation

Moving Forward:

  • Simply walk/run in the direction of the markers

  • Each marker disappears as you pass it

  • New markers appear ahead as you progress

Obstacles:

  • Path accounts for doors

Completion:

  • Trail ends at your objective location

  • Final marker indicates where to interact

  • The system deactivates once the objective is complete

Door System

Some missions may lead you to locked doors. Interact with them using ALT or your interaction key to lockpick them. If you do not have any lockpicks or run out, you must find one to continue.

Some missions require you to pass through locked doors. The breadcrumb system handles these transitions intelligently.

Door Transitions

When your objective is behind a locked door:

  1. Initial Path: Breadcrumbs lead you to the door

  2. Door Interaction: You'll see a notification to unlock/open the door

  3. After unlocking, New breadcrumbs may appear on the other side

  4. Completion Distance: Get within ~2-5 meters of the door to trigger

Interactive Doors

For missions in multi-yard areas:

  1. Entry Breadcrumb: Guides you to the door entrance

  2. Door Notification: Message appears when you reach it

  3. Use the Door: Interact with the door using ALT or your ox_target key.

  4. Exit Breadcrumb: New trail appears leading from

  5. Objective Path: Final breadcrumbs lead to your mission location

Entry & Exit Radius: ~5 meters (you must get close to trigger)

Special Locations

Dead Drop Locations

Delivery missions use breadcrumbs to guide you to:

  • Hidden stash locations

  • Package pickup points

  • Delivery zones

  • Return paths to your contact

Common Issues & Solutions

Can't See Breadcrumbs?

Possible Causes:

  1. Mission hasn't started yet (talk to your contact)

  2. You're too far from the objective

  3. Mission failed or was canceled

Solutions:

  • Check your mission status

  • Move closer to the general area

  • Restart the mission if needed

This is normal! The mission requires you to:

  1. Unlock/Use the door (use lockpick / or hold your target key [Default: ALT])

  2. New breadcrumbs will appear on the other side

This happens when:

  • You completed the objective

  • Mission failed (Due to Inactivity or another reason)

  • The mission was canceled

Mission-Specific Tips

Collection Missions:

  • Breadcrumbs lead directly to the pickup location

  • After collecting, a new trail may appear for exiting

  • Watch for guards along the path

Elimination Missions:

  • The trail leads to the target's general location

  • Target may move, but the area is marked

  • Plan your approach using the breadcrumb route

Delivery Missions:

  • Breadcrumbs show the most direct route

  • May lead through restricted areas

  • Hold ALT, or your interaction key, to find the drop-point (Check vents, under steps, etc.).

  • Plan for guard encounters along the way
